Overview

Work, Learn and Grow is a school-year based, youth empowerment program that is designed to allow participants from the Summer Youth Employment Program an opportunity to build upon their summer experience with work readiness training, college and career exploration and another paid internship.

We offer two versions of the WLG Experience:

Career Ready WLG is designed for students between the ages of 16 and 21 who attend specific N.Y.C. Department of Education schools that our agency is partnered with and participated in SYEP. Those schools are:

  • Bayside High School
  • Benjamin N. Cardozo High School
  • Civic Leadership Academy
  • Francis Lewis High School
  • John Bowne High School
  • Martin Van Buren High School
  • Newcomers High School
  • Pan American International High School
  • Queens Academy High School
  • Queens High School of Teaching
  • Richmond Hill High School

Program selection is recruitment based and there is no lottery. Applications are available online at:

Early October- Applications are released and Enrollment takes place

Middle of October through Middle of December: CUNY College Now & Career Exploration Courses

Middle of December through Beginning of March- Paid Internship Experiences
