Ellen Shajnfeld

Ellen is the Program Assistant for the Older Adults Department at Central Queens. She is honored to say that she has worked at Commonpoint for the last fourteen years, meeting and connecting with so many wonderful people. The clients that Ellen serves form a community of vibrant individuals who are anxious to engage in the thought-provoking activities that the Older Adults Department provides.

Ellen’s background includes a master’s degree in Middle Eastern Languages, and a wide array of jobs, including as a teacher’s assistant, a librarian, a computer programmer and a researcher. Her children attended pre-school and summer programs here, and her grandchildren have participated in various programs and events.

What Ellen enjoys most about working at Commonpoint are the wonderful connections that she has made with employees and clients alike. As she states: “Every day here brings new challenges and new opportunities!”
