Overview
OUR MISSION
Commonpoint Basketball Academy aims to guide players to reach their full potential through engaging and age-appropriate instruction and competitive gameplay in a safe and positive environment. Our professional coaches focus on improving fitness; building skills, confidence, sportsmanship; and inspire a love for the game while establishing the foundation for a lifetime of active, healthy living.
OUR PROGRAM
Commonpoint Basketball Academy encourages all children to participate regardless of their skill level and currently serves players from ages five through 15 years old.
Aspiring players begin their participation in the Commonpoint Basketball Academy through Skill Clinics which teach the fundamentals of basketball. Our progressive games and drills focus on skill development in the basic areas of dribbling, shooting and passing.
Commonpoint Basketball Academy Advanced Skill Clinics are designed to introduce more seasoned athletes to increasingly advanced techniques and team play concepts, including offensive and defensive plays, effective communication and leadership roles while still fine-tuning the execution of basketball’s basic fundamental skills.
The Commonpoint Basketball Academy Youth Leagues offer players who want to experience the excitement and intensity of friendly competition the chance to be placed on a team with their peers. This in-house league is comprised of age-based divisions and is run by Commonpoint staff sports coaches. Throughout the season, practices are held once per week and the weekly games are officiated by professional referees. Players learn valuable life lessons from the team environment like cooperation, communication and good sportsmanship.
