We are excited to announce the opening of our Youth Sports classes for Spring from Sunday, April 19 through Thursday, June 18, 2026! Our dynamic instructors will guide your child to reach their full potential through engaging and age-appropriate sports curriculum. Registration begins February 23– space is limited!

Commonpoint Basketball Academy – Clinics
Our Basketball Clinics are designed to teach the fundamentals of basketball. Our progressive games and drills focus on the basics of dribbling, shooting, and passing. These co-ed classes aim to introduce the basics of basketball through fun games that inspire love for the game.
Our Advanced Clinics are designed to introduce athletes to more advanced skills and team play concepts. These clinics will introduce your athlete to complex team basketball concepts including offensive and defensive plays, effective communication, and leadership roles.

Commonpoint Basketball Academy – Leagues
Western Division – Ages 12–15
For players who want to experience the excitement and intensity of friendly competition the chance to be placed on a team with their peers. This in-house league is comprised of age-based divisions and is run by Commonpoint staff sports coaches. Throughout the season, practices are held once per week and the weekly games are officiated by professional referees. Players learn valuable life lessons from the team environment like cooperation, communication and good sportsmanship.
Teams will play and train for one hour on Tuesday evenings (6:00-8:00pm) and Sunday evenings (6:30-8:30 pm). (18 Sessions)
Players uniform shirts will need to be purchased separately ($30).

Eastern Division – Ages 9–11

Join our brand new girls’ basketball division, part of our in-house recreational league, where teamwork, skill, and confidence are built both on and off the court.

This league is comprised of age-based divisions and is run by Commonpoint staff sports coaches. Throughout the season, practices are held once per week and the weekly games are officiated by professional referees. Dance – Ballet
(Ages 3+)
The foundation of all dance. Body placement and alignment in ballet are the most important elements for every dancer in attaining balance, control, form, strength, and a beautiful line. Dancers will achieve this through barre and center floor work.
Leotard & tights with ballet slippers (pink) required, Ballet skirt and/or tutu is optional.

Learn the fundamentals of tennis in an encouraging and organized setting with our tennis professionals. Our red ball program is designed by athletes who have never played or have very little experience playing tennis.
Deepen your understanding and mastery of tennis in our orange ball program. Our tennis professionals will guide your athlete through more advanced skills to improve their technical and point playing skills. Orange ball athletes should be able to easily track the ball and have basic knowledge of groundstrokes.

Frequently Asked Questions
- The Central Queens facility is located at 67-09 108th Street, Forest Hills, NY 11375. For all Central Queens sports classes, please drop off and pick up in the gymnasium on the basement level. For all Central Queens dance classes, please drop off and pick up on the 3rd Floor Dance Studio.
- For security purposes, all weekday Youth Sports & Dance Classes are “drop-off” only. Parents/Caregivers are not allowed to stay during class time.
- All classes take place once a week and will be held indoors. For all sports classes, please wear comfortable clothing and athletic shoes. For all dance classes, dress requirements will be communicated before the semester begins.
- Free on-street parking is available around the facility.
- 8 weeks: $192 members / $240 non-members

As of November 15th, 2025, the following discount policies will apply to all Commonpoint youth sports and dance registrations:
Discounts may no longer be applied through online registrations. If your registration is eligible for a discount (e.g., Sibling, Commonpoint Afterschool, Commonpoint Nursery Program), registration must be done in-person or by phone by Health & Wellness front desk staff.
- Non-members of Commonpoint Central Queens are eligible for one discount per registration only.
- Members of Commonpoint Central Queens automatically receive 20% off registration fees and may apply a sibling discount if registering more than one child in the household.
- Requests for timely or seasonal discounts (e.g., Early Bird, Black Friday, etc.) must be made within the time frame specified via phone or email.
- No refunds will be issued for registrations made online that are eligible for a discount. Household credit may be issued upon review.

- Before the first class is held, 100% refund minus $20 administrative fee.
- After the first class is held, 90% refund of the remaining unused portion minus $20 administrative fee.
- After 2nd class is held, a 50% refund of the remaining unused portion minus $20 administrative fee.
- No refunds or credits after the 3rd class is held.
- Should you choose to take a Commonpoint credit, the administrative fee will be waived.
- All refund requests must be submitted in writing to HFRefund@commonpoint.org.
If you would like to apply an existing Commonpoint Household Credit to class or program registration fees, please contact HFDesk@commonpoint.org or call (718) 268-5011 ext. 500 for assistance BEFORE enrollment.
Each participant is entitled to one make-up per semester for a class missed due to illness.
To request a make-up class, please send an email to hfdesk@commonpoint.org and include a doctor’s note related to the absence.
Please note, since some classes are held only one time per week, we may try to accommodate a make-up request by offering a spot in a different sports or dance class during the current semester.
For safety and participation purposes, sneakers and appropriate dance shoes are required in order for children to take part in Sports and Dance classes. Crocs, sandals and winter boots are not permitted during class time.
During the winter and spring months, if your child wears winter or rain boots to school, please be sure to pack the appropriate footwear in their backpack:
