Commonpoint Tennis Coach Aki Wolfson selected as the USTA Eastern honoree for the 2025 US Open Champions of Equality Award
Commonpoint is proud to announce that our Director of Tennis at the Commonpoint Tennis and Athletic Center at Alley Pond, Aki Wolfson, has been selected as the USTA Eastern honoree for the 2025 US Open Champions of Equality Award. This incredible recognition was celebrated during the Champions of Equality event at the US Open on Thursday, September 4, which coincided with the Women’s Semifinals.
The Champions of Equality Award celebrates leaders and trailblazers who have advanced inclusion, equal opportunity, and equality in sports and society. Aki’s dedication to promoting accessibility and opportunity in tennis particularly through her work supporting the Wheelchair Tennis Program and Love Serving Autism is a true testament to her commitment to the sport and to the community it serves.
Her philosophy, “Tennis is more than a sport, it’s medicine,” has become a guiding light for our entire club. Through her leadership, we aim to follow her example in using tennis as a means to heal, connect, and inspire.
It was a busy US Open for Coach Aki, who also coached Wheelchair Tennis Superstar Max Wong in both singles, and doubles action. This was both Aki and Max’s debut at the Open, and we’re so proud of them both.
Please join us in congratulating Aki on this outstanding achievement and well-deserved honor.
