Charles Witherspoon

Charles Witherspoon is the Assistant Community School Director at Martin Van Buren High School (VAN). He has obtained his Masters Degree in Social Work from the Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College and it is also where he obtained his Bachelor’s degree for Sociology. He joined Commonpoint initially as a social work intern completing his second year of my internship with the Opportunity Youth Program and was hired shortly after having his skills highlighted as a case manager.

He is passionate about his work with youth and has worked with youth for 13 years and will continue to provide the best service to the youth and community to the fullest extent possible. His current role continues to challenge him and allows him to become more excited about the ways he can provide individuals growth opportunities to better their lives. Overall, He keep busy by spending time with family, friends, playing sports like basketball, or online video games. It’s also very likely you will find a turtle on his desk because it is his favorite animal.
