Kayla Cordero

Kayla I. Cordero is the Program Director of the Commonpoint after school program located at MS67. She began her journey working with the company at the young age of 16 years old for Commonpoint’s Summer Camp Program located at the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds. During this time, Kayla’s love and commitment to supporting the youth sprouted. Kayla’s relationship with the company grew as she held the positions of group leader during summer camp, leadership instructor during the school year, and was the previous after school Assistant Director at MS67. Kayla received her Associates Degree in Business Administration from CUNY Queensborough Community College and shortly after received her Bachelor’s Degree in English Literature from CUNY Hunter College in 2022. She is passionate about delivering quality programming to our youth by helping them improve their confidence, social emotional learning skills, and teaching them how to be change agents in the world. When Kayla is not planning fun activities for her after school program, she loves to go to concerts, travel and spend time with her loved ones during her free time.
