Opportunity Youth (Ages 18-24)
Advance and Earn (Queens and Bronx)
Commonpoint is thrilled to be working with NYC DYCD (Department of Youth and Community Development) to offer Advance & Earn, a unique new program for young people between the ages of 18-24 who are not currently working or attending school and live in any of the 5 boroughs of New York City.
For individuals ages 18-24 who already have a HS diploma or equivalent, and who are not enrolled in college and don’t have a college degree, we offer a variety of high-demand certifications in the medical field and construction.
Eligibility requirements include:
- Young people between the ages of 18 and 24 years old
- Residents of one of the five boroughs of New York City
- Currently not working or in school
- Willing to commit six months to the program
- Legally authorized to work in New York City
- High school diploma or equivalent required for advanced training programs
In addition to academic classes, we also provide the following benefits:

- Comprehensive Case Management Support
- Work Readiness and Support Skills Classes
- Technology Assistance as needed

Programs include:
NEW! Construction Training
Construction training will run for 8-10 weeks and you can expect to receive job opportunities upon completing your certifications. Certifications include OSHA 30, 10 Hr Site Safety Training, 4 Hr Scaffold, 4 Hr Flagger, Silicia Awareness, F-60 Prep/Test, and NCCER CORE.
Classes are held at the Commonpoint Bronx Center (1665 Hoe Avenue, Bronx NY 10460) on Saturdays and Sundays from 9am-5pm.
Medical Certifications & Training (Bronx)
*Please note that we are no longer enrolling Medical Training applicants 18-24 at this time. All applicants aged 18-24 years old will be added to the waitlist for February 2026. For questions or concerns about your status please call 718-619-8838 ext 101
Trainings include:
EKG/Phlebotomy Tech, Certified Nurse Assistant, and Pharmacy Tech
Classes begin in August 2025 and are held at the Commonpoint Bronx Center.

Direct Support Professional (DSP) (November 2025) – Apply now!
NEW! Direct Support Professional (DSP) (Ages 18-40)
Commonpoint’s DSP Workforce Pathway Program is created to support individuals, especially in the neurodiverse community, with becoming successful DSPs.
This program, in partnership with SUNY Farmingdale State College, offers a clear path to a rewarding career as a DSP through education, hands-on training and job placement support.
This program includes college-level courses, paid training and internships, leading to DSP Level I, CPR and First Aid certifications. Eligible participants receive job readiness support and a $750 graduation incentive. Courses are held in person at the Commonpoint Bronx Center and virtually, preparing graduates for long-term success in the field.
What are the requirements? (Bronx program)
Neurodivergent individuals are encouraged to apply! We also encourage people involved in the criminal justice system or affected by community violence to apply.
Applicants must (1) be New York State residents ages 18-40 who can legally work in the US, (2) Currently not working and not in school

Construction Training Programs (Ages 18-40)
Are you between the ages of 18-40 and interested in FREE OSHA Construction training and licensing? Join us for our NEW OSHA construction training and certification with DYCD Connect in the Bronx! Get paid while completing your training and internship!
Eligibility
- Adults between the ages of 18 and 40 years old
- Residents of one of the five boroughs of New York City
- No HS Diploma or GED required
Get certified in 6-8 weeks! The full program includes classes, certification, paid work experience/internship, professional development, and work readiness training (up to 24 weeks). Must attend all sessions Mondays – Fridays from 9-5:30pm. Certifications include:
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course
- Site Safety Training (SST)
- FDNY Certificate of Fitness for Fire Guard for Torch Operations.
- 4-Hour Supported Scaffold User Safety Training.
- Four Hour Work Flagger Training.
- OSHA Silica

Allied Health Training Programs (Ages 18-40)

Are you between the ages of 18-40 and interested in FREE healthcare training and licensing? Join us for our NEW training and certification including CNA, EKG/Phlebotomy, and Pharmacy Technician with DYCD Connect in the Bronx! Get paid while completing your training and internship!
Eligibility
- Adults between the ages of 18 and 40 years old
- Residents of one of the five boroughs of New York City
- HS Diploma or GED required
- Eligible to work in the US
The full program includes tuition-free classes from an accredited school, certification, paid work experience/internship, and job placement assistance. Get paid $20 an hour during orientation, training, and internship! Classes will be held weekdays from 9am-5pm. No prior medical experience is required.

CDL Training Programs (Ages 18-40)
Are you between the ages of 18-40 and interested in FREE CDL training and licensing (Class B)? Join us for our NEW commercial truck driver training and certification with DYCD Connect in the Bronx beginning this summer! Get paid while completing your training and internship!
Eligibility
- Adults between the ages of 18 and 40 years old
- Residents of one of the five boroughs of New York City
- Possess a valid New York State Driver’s License for at least two years with no suspension in 3 years, no accidents in two years, and no more than 4 points off their license
- Legally authorized to work with New York City
- Not currently working or in school
The full program includes tuition-free classes, free CDL License, paid work experience/internship, professional development, job placement assistance and work readiness training. Earn a stipend for 24 weeks while gaining real experience and skills.
