Career Ready SYEP/WLG Program Coordinator

Michelle Nairne started her Commonpoint journey in early 2018 working as a counselor in the Kidz Korner after school program, Early Childhood Nursery Program and the SONYC after- school program. She has also participated in Ladders for Leaders serving as an assistant to the Senior Director of the Parenting Center and was a recurring participant in the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP).  

Michelle rejoined Commonpoint in the Spring of 2026 to pursue one of her passions in youth development and career enhancement to help make a positive impact on New York City youth. She is a Career Ready Program Coordinator for SYEP and Work, Learn, Grow where she is able to collaborate with students and school administrators to ensure a meaningful summer employment experience, help ensure high quality work sites, provide youth with transferable work skills and habits, allow youth to identify their career interests and goals, and equip them with the confidence and qualities to be successful in their future careers. In her free time she loves to dine out, cook, workout, read, go to the cinema or dive into a new series, and do interactive activities with friends and family. 

Michelle obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Law & Society from John Jay College of Criminal Justice and her MBA from Quantic School of Business of Technology. She worked at Morgan Stanley for four years in various roles including, but not limited to, recruiting, talent development programming, financial regulation, paralegal tasks, headcount & expense management, strategic initiatives, operational efficiency and business continuity efforts.
