Chenyl Agbu

Chenyl Agbu is an experienced professional in the human services field, with over 10 years of experience supporting individuals across a range of settings. Before joining Commonpoint, she worked in various supportive roles—primarily serving the neurodiverse population. These experiences helped shape her person-centered approach and deepened her commitment to meeting people where they are.

Chenyl joined the Commonpoint team in 2023 as a case manager and, through her dedication, consistency, and care, grew into her current role as Assistant Director of the Opportunity Youth Train & Earn program. In this role, she supports young adults as they discover who they are, define their goals, and pursue the futures they envision for themselves.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences from SUNY Old Westbury. While her academic background is rooted in the sciences, her heart has always been in helping others, which has guided her toward a meaningful career in youth development and social impact.

What motivates Chenyl most is being part of a collaborative, mission-driven team at Commonpoint—one that shows up for each other and for the young adults they support with genuine care and dedication. She is proud of the strong, supportive bonds they’ve built and is inspired every day by the resilience of the youth they work with.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with loved ones, sharing good food, catching a show or concert, and finding any excuse to share a good laugh!
