Commonpoint Introduces Its Newest Digital Court Reporting Program

People sit in rows in a modern classroom, listening attentively to an engaging session about the digital court reporting field. Decorations include balloons and a small banner featuring Commonpoint. Most attendees are women, dressed in business casual attire, eager to learn more about the court reporting program.

Commonpoint is partnering with the Institute for Digital Court Reporting to offer a 24-week paid Digital Court Reporting program. The program offers 12 weeks of training and 12 weeks of an internship, allowing participants to gain both job support and practical experience.

Digital Court Reporting is the practice of recording legal proceedings using technology to ensure accurate transcripts and efficient courtroom documentation. With remote training and hands-on instruction for legal procedures, digital reporting technology, and industry standards, the program ensures participants are ready to find a career within this high-demand field.

Participants receive certification by the end of the program as a Certified Electronic Reporter and Notary Public. Additionally, Commonpoint provides real-world experience by offering employment connections and an internship through partner employers. Commonpoint offers supportive job placement and guidance as participants begin their career after the program.

The Digital Court Reporting Program runs on a hybrid schedule from Monday-Friday for 25 hours a week. It is offered at both the Commonpoint Bronx Center and the Jack & Shirley Silver Hub. Participants must be between the ages of 18-40 years old, legally authorized to work, have a high school diploma or GED, and not working or not in school.
