Do you enjoy cooking? Turn it into a career! Join us for an in-person information / recruitment session on Tuesday, September 3 at 9:45am at the Jack & Shirley Silver Hub.
Come learn about the training, requirements and rules, meet our chef, and get a tour of the kitchen. All applicants must have (1) social security card or Tax ID, (2) valid Govt ID, (3) diplomas if applicable.
Commonpoint offers a 12-week culinary arts training (Mondays – Thursdays from 9am-1pm) that trains participants for careers as sous chefs, line cooks, directors of culinary, and more! Participants learn knife skills, common cooking techniques, and how to scale up recipes for large crowds. ServeSafe and NYC Food Handlers’ certifications are included in the curriculum.

For children ready to learn to swim independently. Skills include floating, front & back glide & crawl stroke. Children must be comfortable putting their faces in the water.
More technical training in freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke. Butterfly is introduced. Open turns are introduced.
